Iwan Gunawan is a lecturer at Urban Arts and Cultural Industries Program, Post Graduate School of the Jakarta Institute of the Arts. He received his BA in Graphic Design from Jakarta Institute of the Arts. He received his Master Degree in American Studies and his Doctorate in history studies from the University of Indonesia. He is the founder of www.komikindonesia.com and Sequen comic magazine. Besides giving lectures, he also writes and does researches on comics. He is also an independent illustrator and graphic designer. He writes scripts for comics and draws illustrations for comics, novels, and children picture books.
